Taking a fond trip down memory lane, our team began demolishing the existing landscape to establish a blank canvas. This was then followed by the set out of various playful ‘zones’.
To help foster a meaningful connection with nature, a collection of tactile and inclusive elements suitable for varying ages and abilities were introduced. For ‘active’ play, a custom built timber bridge overlying a meandering dry riverbed was installed, alongside a series of raised log steppers. To replace their existing ‘plastic’ cubby house, a timber teepee and seating area was constructed, as well as sandpit tables and a working mud kitchen with running water. Cobblestone paving, sandstone seating logs, raised herb garden beds, edging and a fresh injection of turf, textural ground covers and plants were installed.
